Jacob, born in South Carolina, began shag dancing at age fourteen. After a few years of training, Jacob began competing in Junior Shag. Later, his interest in improving his dancing led him to the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Charlotte where he studied and received extensive training and became a Certified Arthur Murray Dance Instructor.
Jacob found he had a talent and passion for turning non-dancers into dancers; from a Social – “just for fun” level of dancing into a “winner takes all” competitive standard of dancing.
Jacob continued his teaching career at the Charlotte Arthur Murray Studio for several years before transferring to the Washington, DC Arthur Murray Studio. He continued to flourish as a successful Instructor and Competitive Dancer and he placed consistently in the final rounds of numerous professional competitions.
Jacob has returned to the Charlotte and Lake Norman Studios and looks forward to sharing his teaching and dancing skills with you.
